Rhode Island Red
The Rhode Island Red breed was developed in the late 1800's. Their ability to lay about 265 eggs per year made this breed famous worldwide and became the parent of several modern hybird egg layers. The glossy mahogany colored hens with black tail feathers are as beautiful as they are gentle and productive.
